Hogan Lovells Advises Elyse Energy on €70 Million Project Financing Backed by Bpifrance Strategic Projects Guarantee

Hogan Lovells advised Elyse Energy on the structuring and implementation of a €70 million project financing supported by the Guarantee of Strategic Projects issued by Bpifrance Assurance Export; the financing was granted by Société Générale, Bpifrance, Arkéa Banque Entreprises et Institutionnels and Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC. The financing facility, amounting to €70 million, is intended to support the development of two major industrial projects in the sustainable fuels sector. The eM-Rhône project is dedicated to the production of e‑methanol for maritime transport and industrial uses, while the BioTJet project focuses on the production of sustainable aviation fuel. Elyse Energy, founded in 2020, is an independent European industrial SME specialising in the production of sustainable fuels and low‑carbon feedstocks. The company designs, develops, finances, constructs and operates production units that produce sustainable fuels from renewable and nuclear electricity and from recycled carbon sourced from industry or biomass.
