Freshfields advises on US$706 million Chuangxin Industries listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Freshfields advised China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited, Huatai Financial Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited and the underwriters on the Hong Kong and US law aspects of Chuangxin Industries Holdings Limited’s US$706 million ordinary share listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The transaction comprised the successful listing of Chuangxin Industries’ ordinary shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for an aggregate amount of US$706 million. This transaction is the 13th Hong Kong listing completed by Freshfields’ Asia Equity Capital Markets team in the year. Chuangxin Industries is an enterprise focused on alumina refining and aluminum smelting at the upstream of the aluminium industry chain. Its business primarily comprises the production and sale of electrolytic aluminum, alumina and related products. According to CRU, Chuangxin Industries’ aluminum smelter in Huolinguole, Inner Mongolia, was the fourth-largest production base of electrolytic aluminum in North China by output in 2024, and Chuangxin Industries was the twelfth-largest electrolytic aluminum producer in China by output in 2024.
