DWF advised Westmorland and Furness Council on the procurement and award of a new Revenues and Benefits system. The Council carried out the procurement as a further competition under the Crown Commercial Service’s Vertical Application Solutions Framework (RM6259). The contract will replace existing IT systems from the former Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland Councils with a single, cloud-hosted system operating across the entire Westmorland and Furness area. The Council estimates the contract will save taxpayers approximately A33.6m over the next decade. DWF provided support to the Council throughout the procurement process, advising on procurement strategy, drafting the core procurement and contract documents, and supporting the Council through to contract award. Charlotte Ganz, Director in DWF's Commercial and Public Sector team, said the firm was proud to have supported Westmorland and Furness Council on a strategically important and transformative IT procurement that will improve services across the region.
