POELLATH advises management of Engelmann Sensor GmbH on sale to Rivean Capital

POELLATH advised the management of Engelmann Sensor GmbH in connection with the sale of Engelmann by DPE Investment Gesellschaft mbH to European private equity firm Rivean Capital. DPE’s sale of its portfolio company Engelmann Sensor GmbH completes the exit from DPE Fund IV and closes an intensive growth phase for the business. Over the past five years Engelmann has evolved from a German specialist in heat meters into an international provider of sub-metering systems for heat, cooling and water. Since 2021 the company has significantly expanded its customer base, introduced new products to the market and more than doubled its EBITDA. The partnership with Rivean Capital is intended to reinforce Engelmann’s market leadership and to support expansion in existing and new international markets. The purchase price was not disclosed. Completion remains subject to customary regulatory approvals. Headquartered in Wiesloch-Baiertal near Heidelberg, Engelmann Sensor offers a fully integrated product and service portfolio including heat, cooling and water meters, electronic heat cost allocators, gateways, software and data services. With one of the broadest product ranges in the sector, Engelmann supplies building measurement service providers with an integrated end-to-end ecosystem, delivering several million devices annually worldwide and helping customers meet EU energy efficiency requirements and implement accurate consumption-based billing. Engelmann employs 210 staff across two sites in Germany and one in China.
