Menold Bezler Advises Wilhelm Weber on Self‑Administered Insolvency Restructuring

Menold Bezler advised Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG, and PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH was appointed by the court through attorney Steffen Beck as preliminary custodian to accompany the insolvency proceedings in the interest of the creditors. On 17 November 2025 Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG filed for insolvency proceedings in self‑administration with the district court (insolvency court) in Esslingen. Dr. Sebastian Mielke of Menold Bezler has been appointed as authorised restructuring representative. The court appointed attorney Steffen Beck from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as the preliminary custodian; he will accompany the proceedings in the interest of the creditors. Together with managing directors Stephan Meier and Martin A. Bauer, Dr. Mielke and the company intend to implement a restructuring. A structured investor process will be launched to identify potential investors for a possible acquisition of the company. Business operations at Wilhelm Weber continue without restrictions, and the salaries of the approximately 120 employees are secured for three months through insolvency benefits. Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1925 in Esslingen, operates in toolmaking, plastic injection moulding and rotary systems and has specialised over its history in multi‑component injection moulding. The company attributed the need for the self‑administered insolvency filing to a persistently weak automotive sector and a resulting decline in revenues, necessitating continuation of the restructuring course initiated in recent years.
