Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG begins debtor-in-possession restructuring; PLUTA partner Steffen Beck appointed provisional insolvency monitor

Menold Bezler advised and represented the debtor Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG, while PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH was appointed by the court to monitor the insolvency proceedings and represent the interests of creditors. On 17 November 2025 Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG filed for debtor‑in‑possession insolvency with the Local Court of Esslingen. Dr Sebastian Mielke of Menold Bezler has been named restructuring officer. The court appointed PLUTA partner Steffen Beck as provisional insolvency monitor; he will oversee the proceedings on behalf of creditors. Dr Mielke is working with managing directors Stephan Meier and Martin A. Bauer to identify options for restructuring the business. A structured process to seek an investor to acquire the business will be launched. The company continues to operate without restriction. Salaries for roughly 120 employees are guaranteed for three months under the substitute benefits provisions of German insolvency law. Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Esslingen in 1925 and operates in toolmaking, plastic injection moulding and turning systems, with a long‑standing specialisation in multi‑component injection moulding. Management had begun restructuring measures in recent years but moved into debtor‑in‑possession proceedings in response to prolonged weakness in the automotive sector and declining sales. Menold Bezler represented the client Wilhelm Weber GmbH & Co. KG with a team composed by: Dr Sebastian Mielke (partner, restructuring officer), Ms Melanie Niksic (debtor‑in‑possession insolvency).
