LARK Advises IBA Dosimetry on Acquisition of PhantomX

Business Law Powerhouse LARK advised IBA Dosimetry GmbH, a subsidiary of Ion Beam Applications S.A. (IBA), on its acquisition of PhantomX GmbH; Munich law firm SSH supported LARK on IP/IT matters in the transaction. IBA Dosimetry GmbH has acquired PhantomX GmbH, a move that expands IBA’s portfolio in healthcare diagnostics and therapeutic systems, in particular solutions enabling artificial intelligence quality assurance. PhantomX, founded in 2018 by Dr. Paul Jahnke and Dr. Felix Schwarz with support from Charité University Hospital in Berlin, develops realistic models of human body parts used globally to validate diagnostic and therapeutic imaging systems, and to support medical education and training. The company is positioned at the forefront of quality assurance for AI applications in medical imaging and provides tools for AI-enhanced clinical solutions. Belgium-based Ion Beam Applications (IBA) is a global leader in particle accelerator technology and a leading supplier of equipment and services for proton therapy—the most advanced form of radiation therapy—alongside activities in industrial sterilization, radiopharmaceuticals and dosimetry.
