Simmons & Simmons advises Supermarket Income REIT plc on acquisition of 20 Carrefour supermarkets in France

Simmons & Simmons advised Supermarket Income REIT plc on the acquisition of a portfolio of 20 Carrefour supermarkets in France. The transaction, structured as a sale & leaseback, comprises 20 Carrefour supermarkets with a combined gross area of approximately 44,000 m² and an agreed value of €123 million, excluding acquisition fees. The assets are located across France and will allow Supermarket Income REIT to extend its portfolio into new geographic areas. This is the third acquisition for which Simmons & Simmons has acted for Supermarket Income REIT plc in France, following the group’s initial property purchase in 2023–2024 of 17 Carrefour supermarkets and a subsequent acquisition of nine further supermarkets in early 2025.
