Noerr Advises Roland Berger on Cooperative Venture with Restructuring Advisor Ralf Schmitz

"Noerr advised Roland Berger on a cooperative venture with Schmitz & Partner and Ralf Schmitz to form Ralf Schmitz CRO Management GmbH from 1 January 2026. The new company will second experienced CROs to distressed businesses and cover the full restructuring value chain."

Noerr advised Roland Berger in connection with a cooperative venture with Schmitz & Partner and restructuring advisor Ralf Schmitz. The alliance between Roland Berger and Schmitz & Partner, both market leaders in restructuring and turnaround management, will form a new company whose core business is the secondment of experienced chief restructuring officers (CROs) to businesses in distressed situations. From 1 January 2026 the new company will trade as Ralf Schmitz CRO Management GmbH and will act as a competence centre covering the entire restructuring value chain, from devising restructuring strategies to implementing them and transforming businesses. Munich-based Roland Berger, with more than 3,000 advisers worldwide, is a leading management consultancy focused on strategic management. Schmitz & Partner Unternehmensberater specialises in stabilising distressed businesses through extensive restructuring and turnaround measures; its consulting activities are managed by Ralf Schmitz and partners Benno Hank and Stephan Happe. Apart from advising on a wide range of company law matters, Noerr also advised Roland Berger on the conclusion of framework agreements for advisory services as part of the transaction.
