Addleshaw Goddard advises Scottish Equity Partners on exit from car finance fintech Zuto

Addleshaw Goddard advised Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) and various other Zuto shareholders on the exit, while GP Bullhound Corporate Finance and BDO provided advisory support to SEP. The transaction sees private equity investor Bridgepoint enter a new partnership with Zuto, becoming a majority shareholder through its small cap Growth fund, which targets the scaling of fast-growing, profitable European businesses. The new partnership is intended to accelerate development of Zuto’s technology platform and broaden the company’s product range, drawing on Bridgepoint’s sector expertise in scaling high-integrity fintechs. SEP is a long-term investor in Zuto. Founded in 2006, Zuto has helped more than 450,000 people in the UK secure car finance and has played a disruptive role in a UK market worth around £30 billion. SEP Senior Adviser Tony Robison commented on SEP’s pride in supporting Zuto’s growth and innovation, and Zuto CEO Jim Wilkinson expressed gratitude for SEP’s support and influence on the company’s culture and development.
