Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advises Messi’s Socimi on management agreement with Meliá Hotels International

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised Edificio Rostower, the Socimi owned by Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, on the signing of a strategic management agreement with Meliá Hotels International. The agreement, effective 1 November, brings six MiM-branded luxury hotels — located in Andorra, Baqueira, Ibiza, Mallorca, Sitges and Sotogrande and totaling approximately 500 rooms — into The Meliá Collection, the group’s premium luxury segment. These properties had previously been managed by Majestic Hotel Group. Through the partnership, Edificio Rostower secures the management of its hotels by a globally recognized operator with extensive experience in the luxury hospitality sector, aiming to guarantee high standards, a distinctive guest experience and enhanced international marketing and distribution for the MiM Hotels brand. For Meliá Hotels International the agreement strengthens its position in the premium hotel market and extends its collaborations with elite sports personalities; the deal complements Meliá’s Zel Hotels project with Rafael Nadal and further consolidates the group’s international presence in luxury tourism and sports hospitality.
