Two firms advise on acquisition of solar photovoltaic plants in Paraná

Souto Correa advised Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) on the sale of its small-scale distributed generation portfolio to Thopen Energia, which was advised by Vieira Rezende Advogados. The transaction concerned ten solar photovoltaic plants located in the State of Paraná, Brazil, with a combined capacity of approximately 22.75 megawatt-peak (MWp). Three of the plants are owned by the special purpose entities Pharma Solar II, III and IV, based in Bandeirantes, and seven are owned by Copel Serviços and located through its branches in Santo Antônio da Platina, Sarandi and Reserva do Iguaçu. The deal results in Copel's complete exit from the small-scale distributed generation segment and aligns with the company's strategy to concentrate on large-scale energy generation, transmission and distribution activities.
