honert advised the shareholder of h/p/cosmos sports & medical GmbH on the sale of the majority of the company shares to Thyssen’sche Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H. (THG). The transaction transfers a majority stake in h/p/cosmos to THG, with founder and previous owner Franz Harrer remaining as a long-term co-shareholder. Operational management of the company will remain in the hands of the existing management team. Founded in 1988 by Franz Harrer and Manfred Pelz, h/p/cosmos has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality treadmill systems for diagnostics, rehabilitation and competitive sports. With an export ratio of approximately 80 percent and annual sales of around €17 million, the company is represented in over 90 countries and is regarded as a global technology leader that has significantly influenced the development of modern treadmill technologies over its 37-year history. THG is a long-term, family-oriented investor with holdings in Germany and abroad.
