GvW Graf von Westphalen Advises Webasto on Divestiture of Beijing Production Site in China

GvW Graf von Westphalen represented the Webasto Group in the transaction, with Webasto’s in-house legal department acting for the company. Webasto, a global top-100 automotive supplier headquartered in Stockdorf, Germany, has sold a former production site in Beijing to a domestic Chinese purchaser. The facility had previously been used for the manufacture of automotive roofs, related components and electronic systems. The divestiture allows Webasto to optimise its production footprint in China and to strengthen manufacturing synergies while the company continues to operate significant production and sales activities in the country. With annual sales exceeding 4 billion euros, the family-owned Webasto Group has been active in China since 2001 and operates several production facilities in the PRC, primarily for premium roof solutions and electric heating systems for the automotive industry.
