The transaction contemplates the establishment of a local manufacturing unit in Zambia to manufacture and supply medicines, with the objective of supporting the Zambian Government's national health programmes and enhancing local production capabilities. The project will be implemented through the incorporation of a joint venture company in Zambia. Under the agreed structure, Akums will hold a 51% majority stake and a nominated Zambian state instrumentality will hold the remaining 49%.
