Dentons advises I&U Group on successful US$40 million loan restructuring

Dentons advised I&U Group, and FinPoint, a Ukraine-based independent financial advisory firm, acted as the sole financial adviser to I&U Group. I&U Group, a leading Ukrainian agricultural company specialising in the cultivation and production of sugar, flour, grains, rapeseed, sunflower seeds and wheat, commenced restructuring discussions in April 2024 and concluded signing restructuring agreements through 2025. The company successfully restructured up to US$40 million of loans with its lenders, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), Oschadbank, Credit Agricole, Ukrsibbank (BNP Paribas Group) and ProCredit Bank. Dentons provided legal support under both English and Ukrainian law. The firm reviewed loan documentation with the lenders, assisted with transaction structuring and supported negotiations of the restructuring documents. Dentons also clarified amendments to the security documentation, advised on perfection, and provided guidance on banking and finance regulatory matters as well as on implications arising from martial law.
