GÖRG Advises SHS Capital on Financing for Acquisition of Ackermann Instrumente GmbH

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advised healthcare specialist SHS Capital on the acquisition financing for the purchase of Ackermann Instrumente GmbH. The transaction, completed in August 2025, involved SHS Capital's acquisition of Ackermann Instrumente GmbH. Ackermann is a manufacturer of high-quality surgical instruments with a global customer base and a focus on endoscopy, implantology and general surgery. As part of the acquisition, the family succession was reorganised: Rolf Ackermann remains a minority shareholder and Peter Grassl continues to run the company as managing director. Founded in 1993 and based in Tübingen, the private equity firm SHS Capital invests in innovative European healthcare companies, concentrating on expansion financing, shareholder changes and succession situations. Investors in the SHS funds include national and international pension funds, funds of funds, entrepreneurs and the SHS management team. The investment was made from the sixth fund generation (SHS VI), launched in 2022; the fund currently has a volume of around €270 million. SHS intends to expand Ackermann's core business through targeted partnerships with regional companies and to build a leading medtech group.
