GÖRG advises Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on reorganisation of regional marketing

"GÖRG advised the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) on the sale of its 25.1% stake in Rhein-Main Media GmbH to Frankfurter Societäts-Medien GmbH (FSM) and the restructuring of regional marketing effective 1 January 2026. Pressehaus Bintz-Verlag (PBV, Ippen Group) will assume the marketing mandate for the Rhein-Main edition and other titles under the brand Rhein.Main.Media."

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advised the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) on the reorganisation of its regional marketing, including the sale of its stake in Rhein-Main Media GmbH (RMM) and the conclusion of a new marketing agreement with Pressehaus Bintz-Verlag (PBV), a member of the Ippen Group. RMM, previously a joint venture between F.A.Z. and Frankfurter Societäts-Medien GmbH (FSM) — which, like PBV, belongs to the Ippen Group — had been responsible for marketing the Rhein-Main edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as well as the Frankfurter Neue Presse and the Frankfurter Rundschau. F.A.Z. has sold its 25.1 percent stake in RMM to FSM, which will become the sole shareholder as of 1 January 2026. Concurrently, regional marketing was restructured with effect from 1 January 2026. Under the new arrangements, PBV will, alongside its own titles Offenbach Post and Hanauer Anzeiger, assume the marketing mandate for the Rhein-Main edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and for the other titles that were previously marketed by RMM, operating under the marketing brand Rhein.Main.Media. GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB represented Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) with a team composed by: Dr Matthias Menke (ead, Partner, Corporate / M&A, Frankfurt am Main); Dr Lars Weber (Partner, Corporate / M&A, Frankfurt am Main); Alessio Saponaro (Associate, Corporate / M&A, Frankfurt am Main). Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) project management represented the client with a team composed by: Lenard Bielmeier (Head of Investment Management and M&A, Frankfurt am Main).
