Noerr Advises FMC on €100 Million Financing Round in European Semiconductor Sector

"Noerr advised Dresden-based FMC on a €100 million financing round: €77 million in an oversubscribed Series C led by HV Capital and DeepTech & Climate Fonds with participation from Vsquared Ventures and existing investors, plus €23 million in public funding (IPCEI ME/CT and the EIC) to accelerate commercialisation of FMC’s DRAM+ and 3D CACHE+ memory chips."

Noerr advised Dresden-based semiconductor and memory chip company FMC on its €100 million financing round. The transaction comprises €77 million in equity raised through an oversubscribed Series C financing round and €23 million in public funding. The Series C equity round, which counts prominent existing and new investors among its backers, is led by HV Capital and the DeepTech & Climate Fonds (DTCF) and includes participation from Vsquared Ventures as well as existing investors eCAPITAL, Bosch Ventures, Air Liquide Venture Capital, M Ventures (Merck) and Verve Ventures. The equity raise ranks among the largest capital infusions of its kind in the semiconductor industry. The additional €23 million in funding was sourced through public programs, including contributions from the IPCEI ME/CT programme and the European Innovation Council (EIC). The proceeds will accelerate the commercialisation of FMC’s DRAM+ and 3D CACHE+ memory chips and system solutions, support the expansion of the company’s global presence and leverage FMC’s technology advantages in energy efficiency to facilitate the global ramp-up of AI data centres and AI edge applications in the €100+ billion memory chip market.
