Latham & Watkins Advises AMD on Acquisition of MK1 to Boost AI Inference Performance and Efficiency

AMD has finalized the acquisition of MK1, a company known for high-speed inference and reasoning-based AI technologies optimized for large-scale deployments. MK1’s Flywheel technology, which is optimized for AMD hardware, currently serves more than 1 trillion tokens per day. The MK1 team will join the AMD Artificial Intelligence Group and contribute to the advancement of AMD’s high-speed inference capabilities and enterprise AI software stack. The transaction is a key milestone in AMD’s strategy to enhance AI performance and efficiency by combining MK1’s software innovations with AMD’s compute capabilities.
