Grant Thornton Advisors Expands Multinational Platform with Acquisition of Grant Thornton Brazil

"Simpson Thacher represented Grant Thornton Advisors LLC in its pending acquisition of Grant Thornton Brazil, extending Grant Thornton Advisors' multinational platform into Brazil. The transaction, expected to close later this year, follows recent additions including Grant Thornton New Zealand and Grant Thornton Poland and broadens an integrated advisory and tax network now spanning 16 firms across 20 time zones."

Simpson Thacher represented Grant Thornton Advisors LLC in connection with the pending acquisition of Grant Thornton Brazil. The transaction will extend Grant Thornton Advisors' multinational platform into Latin America’s largest market. It is expected to close later this year and follows recent transactions that will add Grant Thornton New Zealand and Grant Thornton Poland to the platform. Together, these additions will expand the integrated cross-border footprint to include 16 firms spanning 20 time zones. Grant Thornton Advisors launched the platform earlier this year with the support of an investor group led by New Mountain Capital, bringing high-performing firms across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region into an integrated advisory and tax practice complemented by independent audit practices. The platform currently includes Grant Thornton firms in the United States, Ireland, France, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Channel Islands and the Cayman Islands, and it has announced transactions involving Grant Thornton firms in Spain, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Poland. The platform has also added specialist firms serving strategic markets and industries, including Auxis and Stax.
