Wolf Theiss Advises Rheinmetall on Joint Venture with Pirochim Victoria to Build EUR 500 Million Ammunition Powder Plant in Romania

"Wolf Theiss advised Rheinmetall on a EUR 500 million joint venture with Pirochim Victoria to build an ammunition powder plant in Brașov County, Romania. Construction is slated to begin in 2026 with production within two years. The project will expand European powder capacity, support NATO-compatible supply chains and create over 700 skilled jobs. Wolf Theiss also advised Rheinmetall on a related JV in Bulgaria."

Wolf Theiss advised Rheinmetall on its joint venture with Pirochim Victoria to develop an ammunition powder facility in Brașov County, Romania. The EUR 500 million project is intended to expand European powder manufacturing capacity and to support NATO-compatible supply chains. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with production expected to commence within two years. Once operational, the plant is anticipated to create more than 700 high-skilled jobs and to strengthen Romania’s defence industrial base. Wolf Theiss also advised Rheinmetall on a separate joint venture with Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi for the development and manufacture of artillery shells and energetic materials in Bulgaria. Wolf Theiss represented Rheinmetall in the transactions with Pirochim Victoria (Romania) and Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi (Bulgaria), with a team composed by: Partners Bryan Jardine and Anca Jurcovan and Counsel Cornelia Postelnicu.
