Geldards played an integral role advising Nottingham City Council on a major £12.6m construction contract with Balfour Beatty for the construction of the bridge. The project, funded by the Transforming Cities Fund, is intended to connect both sides of the River Trent, improving sustainable transport links and connectivity across the city. The new bridge is the first to be built in Nottingham for more than 60 years. The structure stands at 87 metres high and weighs 175 tonnes. It was lifted into place by a large crawler crane in an operation that required weeks of planning and close collaboration with project partners. The installation marks a significant step in delivery of the infrastructure, which is due to open in Spring 2026. Geldards represented Nottingham City Council with a team composed by: Chris Hawrylak, Partner, Infrastructure & Construction.
