DLA Piper Advises EnergRed on Launch of One of Italy's First National Renewable Energy Communities

"DLA Piper advised EnergRed in structuring, negotiating and documenting the agreements to launch one of Italy's first national renewable energy communities. The project features a single national CER with multiple local energy nodes; a node in the province of Rome was recently activated and six EnergRed plants will inject about 4.3 GWh/year for community sharing."

DLA Piper represented EnergRed in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of the agreements required to launch one of Italy’s first renewable energy communities (CER) with national significance. The transaction establishes a distinctive model consisting of a single national renewable energy community supported by a network of local "energy nodes" activated at individual primary substation areas as required. The arrangement enables local plants to aggregate generation for shared use within the national CER. A local energy node has most recently been activated in the province of Rome, while six plants developed by EnergRed across Italy are already operational and will inject approximately 4.3 GWh per year into the grid for sharing within the community. DLA Piper represented EnergRed with a team composed by: Vincenzo La Malfa (co-head of the Energy sector), Andrea Cerini and Carlo Alberto Ravazzolo.
