BonelliErede and Legance Advise on METLEN Project Financing in Italy

"BonelliErede and Legance assisted METLEN Energy & Metals and a banking pool (UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo and Alpha Bank) on a €65 million project financing to build two ground-mounted photovoltaic plants in Sardinia and Piedmont (approx. 60 MW). The financing includes accordion credit lines for two additional solar projects and a battery energy storage system (BESS)."

BonelliErede and Legance participated in the transaction: BonelliErede advised METLEN Energy & Metals, while Legance advised a syndicate of banks composed of UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo and Alpha Bank. The transaction consists of a financing of approximately €65 million intended for the construction of two ground-mounted photovoltaic plants located in Sardinia and Piedmont, with a combined capacity of about 60 MW. The financing package also includes accordion credit lines for two additional solar projects and a battery energy storage system (BESS), an important structural innovation for the country's renewables market. BonelliErede represented METLEN Energy & Metals with a team composed by: partner Catia Tomasetti, leader of the Focus Team Infrastructures, Energy and Ecological Transition; managing associate Daniela De Palma (acting as project manager) and associate Giorgia Racini for the financial documentation; partner Giovanna Zagaria, senior associate Giulia Pandimiglio and associate Mauro Porto for administrative and regulatory matters; and associates Esmeralda Olivari, Alberto Gea and Tommaso Muscarà for project and real estate due diligence. Legance represented UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo and Alpha Bank with a multidisciplinary team led and coordinated by senior partner Monica Colombera and partner Antonio Palazzolo, and managed by senior associate Alessandra Fanelli. The team included associate Adriana Garaffa on financial documentation; partner Cristina Martorana, managing associate Alberto Tedeschi and associate Pietro Monni on administrative and regulatory matters; and senior counsel Riccardo Petrelli together with associate Francesco Antico on tax aspects. METLEN Energy & Metals' in-house legal team included senior legal counsel Caterina Antenucci, Arianna Rucco and Davide Zuccarino.
