TT&A and Mayer Brown Advise J.P. Morgan India on $1.1 Billion Bharti Airtel Stake Sale

"TT&A and Mayer Brown advised J.P. Morgan India (the broker) on Pastel Limited’s secondary sale of up to 51,000,000 Bharti Airtel shares, aggregating up to ₹10,300 crore (US$1.1 billion). Pastel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singtel, which now holds a 27.5% stake in Bharti Airtel."

TT&A advised J.P. Morgan India Private Limited, the broker, while Mayer Brown Hong Kong LLP acted as international legal counsel to the broker in connection with a secondary share sale by Pastel Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singtel. Pastel Limited completed a secondary sale of up to 51,000,000 equity shares in Bharti Airtel Limited, aggregating up to ₹10,300 crore (US$1.1 billion), by way of share sales executed on the screen‑based trading platforms of BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. Earlier this year Singtel had carried out another stake sale in Bharti Airtel. Following the transactions, Singtel holds a 27.5% stake in Bharti Airtel. TT&A represented J.P. Morgan India Private Limited with a team composed by: Abhinav Kumar (Partner) and Indira Satish (Senior Associate). Mayer Brown Hong Kong LLP served as international legal counsel to J.P. Morgan India Private Limited.
