Historic Infrastructure Project in Israel Tel Aviv Metropolitan Mass Transit System Enters Execution Phase

The transaction concerns the publication of pre-qualification documents for the tenders relating to the design and construction of tunnels and underground stations in the first phase of the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Mass Transit System. The project is described as the largest, most complex and most expensive infrastructure undertaking in Israel to date and one of the largest in the world. It is expected to transform public transportation across central Israel and to affect the daily lives of roughly five million residents in the greater Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The pre-qualification process has been developed as a highly sophisticated and innovative procedure intended to enable broad participation in approximately ten tenders that will be issued over the coming years. The design of this process required creative and unconventional solutions. The publication of these documents marks the official commencement of the execution phase of the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Mass Transit System, following years of planning, and constitutes a major milestone in the realization of Israel’s transportation vision.
