Noerr Advises Wien Energie on Billion-Euro Acquisition of ImWind Group

Noerr and Austrian partner firm E+H Rechtsanwälte GmbH advised Wien Energie GmbH, a subsidiary of the municipal utility Stadtwerke Wien, on its strategic acquisition of the ImWind Group. The transaction is a billion-euro strategic acquisition by Wien Energie, Austria’s largest regional energy provider. The ImWind Group operates 52 wind turbines across 14 wind farms and four photovoltaic systems in Austria, Germany and Italy. Including its project pipeline, the group’s wind energy and photovoltaics projects have an annual production capacity of more than 2 TWh. An integrated team from Noerr’s Energy & Infrastructure practice advised on the German law aspects of the transaction.
