Freshfields advised SURJ Sports Investment, the Public Investment Fund’s dedicated sports investment vehicle, on the acquisition of a minority stake in DAZN Group Limited. The transaction involved SURJ, which focuses on strategic investments across the global sports sector with a mandate to drive international growth while enhancing the regional sporting ecosystem in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. DAZN, available in over 200 markets, is a leading global sports streaming and entertainment company delivering live and on-demand sports content to more than 60 million users globally. The deal comprised SURJ’s purchase of a minority stake in DAZN.
