Bird & Bird Advises PACT Earth on $20 Million Series A to Scale Production of Collagen-Based Biomaterial

Bird & Bird advised PACT Earth on its Series A financing, working closely with Kenzo Onumonu, Founder of Crumb, who provided fractional general counsel support to the company. The transaction comprised a Series A fundraising of approximately $20 million. The round was led by Forbion’s BioEconomy Fund I and saw participation from HV Capital, Hoxton Ventures and FPCI Polytechnique. PACT Earth, a biomaterials innovator developing next‑generation collagen‑based materials for the textile and consumer goods sectors, will use the proceeds to advance large‑scale production of its flagship material, Oval, at its newly commissioned pilot line in Cambridge. Oval is engineered for roll‑to‑roll manufacturing as a drop‑in replacement for plastic across fashion, interiors, footwear and automotive applications. The material seeks to combine commercial performance with distinctive aesthetics and handfeel, addressing mounting regulatory and sustainability pressures across global supply chains. The financing is intended to enable PACT Earth to deliver commercial volumes of Oval to global partners and to expand its product portfolio. Bird & Bird has acted for PACT Earth since the company’s first funding round in 2020 and continued that relationship in this Series A financing.
