Megha Engineering acquires 250 MW lignite-fired power project in Tamil Nadu from TAQA

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited and its subsidiary MEIL Energy Private Limited, while Trilegal advised The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, PJSC (TAQA) in connection with the sale of TAQA Neyveli Power Company Limited. Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited has acquired 100% of the shares in TAQA Neyveli Power Company Limited from TAQA and its affiliates. TAQA Neyveli Power Company Limited owns and operates a 250 MW lignite-fired thermal power project located in Tamil Nadu. The acquisition transfers full ownership and operational control of the plant to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures and its subsidiary MEIL Energy Private Limited. TAQA undertook this transaction as part of a strategic reorientation toward lower-carbon, flexible gas-fired power generation and renewable energy investments.
