Krogerus advised Sentica Partners on its sale to Cooperative KPY (KPY). The transaction is a corporate sale through which KPY acquires Sentica. Sentica is a Finnish private equity firm that has supported the development and internationalization of domestic growth companies for over two decades. KPY’s stated mission is to create business vitality in Finland by strengthening the competitiveness, growth and renewal of domestic business; going forward, KPY intends to increasingly fulfil that mission through funds rather than direct investments. The cooperation enables the raising of a new significant fund and, in the longer term, the raising of subsequent funds. The arrangement does not affect Sentica’s current portfolio. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions. Krogerus represented Sentica Partners with a team composed by: Partner Mika Ståhlberg, Partner Jan Johanson and Associate Tuuli Merikallio; Counsel Alina Böling (regulatory matters); Partner Pyry Somervuori (fund matters), assisted by Counsel Joonas Parkkinen and Associate Amalia Tiainen; and Partner Samu Lassila (tax matters).
