Koutalidis Advises Waterwheel Capital Management on Acquisition of Solar Securitization Notes in Greece

Koutalidis advised Waterwheel Capital Management on the acquisition of 100% of the notes issued under the Solar securitization. The transaction involves the purchase of all notes issued under the Solar securitization, a portfolio of predominantly non-performing corporate exposures originated by Piraeus Bank in Greece. As of 31 December 2024 the portfolio had a gross book value of approximately EUR 300 million and comprises corporate loans and other SME credit claims. The Solar portfolio forms part of a joint initiative by Greece’s four systemic banks to manage non-performing corporate claims. Cepal Hellas will act as servicer. Koutalidis had previously advised Waterwheel Capital Management on the Solar portfolio securitization in 2023.
