Hogan Lovells Advises Soletanche Freyssinet and Nuvia on Acquisition of Spanish Nuclear Services Company Marsein

Hogan Lovells, Dune Morris and Garrigues advised the parties: Hogan Lovells advised Soletanche Freyssinet and its nuclear-services subsidiary Nuvia; Dune Morris (Amauri Costa) acted as lead M&A counsel for Soletanche Freyssinet; and Spanish firm Garrigues advised the sellers. The transaction involved the acquisition by Soletanche Freyssinet and its subsidiary Nuvia of Marsein, a Spanish nuclear services company specialised in mechanical maintenance, welding, decommissioning and waste-management services. Marsein brings decades of experience on major Spanish reactor projects and decommissioning initiatives, including participation in Spain’s first reactor decommissioning operations at Vandellós I, José Cabrera-Zorita and Santa María de Garoña. The acquisition enables Nuvia, which already operates in 16 countries, to establish a presence in Spain and allows Marsein to expand its maintenance and decommissioning capabilities by incorporating Nuvia’s technological expertise and resources into its services.
