The transaction comprised a $1 million pre‑seed round led by Shastra VC, with participation from certain angel investors. The financing is intended to accelerate Wankel Energy Systems' global expansion plans and support further development and commercial deployment of its technology. Wankel Energy Systems specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced expanders for energy recovery in process industries, aiming to capture energy otherwise lost through pressure‑reducing valves (PRVs). The company positions its solutions as a means to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints, and is targeting deployment of more than 1,000 units across India and international markets over the next decade.
