Norton Rose Fulbright Advises ENGIE Energía Chile on US$400 Million Sustainability-Linked Financing

Norton Rose Fulbright represented ENGIE Energía Chile S.A. in relation to a US$400 million sustainability-linked green term loan facility arranged by Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF). The transaction closed on October 16, 2025. The US$400 million facility will accelerate ENGIE’s strategic investment plan in renewable energy, supporting a development pipeline of solar, wind and battery storage projects that will expand the company’s renewable capacity and advance its decarbonization objectives. A portion of the proceeds will be used to refinance up to US$100 million of existing debt associated with these initiatives. CAF acted as lender, administrative agent and lead arranger. Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation served as green loan coordinator, with Crédit Agricole CIB, BBVA (New York Branch) and SMBC participating as arrangers. The financing is intended to support Chile’s energy transition while maintaining supply security and stability.
