CMS Advises Brookfield and Maori Capital on Asia Cold Storage Joint Venture and Hong Kong Seed Acquisition

CMS represented Brookfield Asset Management and Maori Capital (an affiliate of Uni‑China Group) in the formation of a joint venture platform for the development and management of cold storage real estate assets across Asia, and advised the platform on its seed acquisition from Swire Properties. The transaction established a dedicated cold storage platform that brings together Brookfield Asset Management and Maori Capital. CMS advised on the formation of the joint venture and its strategic mandate to develop and manage essential logistics infrastructure for refrigerated storage across the region. CMS also advised on the platform’s seed acquisition of a 246,000 sq. ft. industrial property in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong, purchased from Swire Properties and intended for redevelopment into a cold storage facility. The firm additionally supported the construction aspects of the project and provided coordinated advice across real estate, corporate, finance and construction disciplines to execute the multi‑jurisdictional transaction from formation through acquisition, financing and construction.
