CMS advises Eni on joint venture with Petronas for oil and gas fields in Indonesia and Malaysia

"CMS advised Eni in a new joint venture with Petronas covering 14 oil and gas fields in Indonesia and Malaysia, combining c.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) with additional exploration potential of around 10 billion BOE. Assegaf Hamzah & Partners and Skrine acted as local counsel for Eni in Indonesia and Malaysia. The transaction was also handled internally by Eni's legal team."

CMS, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners and Skrine participated in the transaction: CMS advised Eni in its new joint venture with Petronas, while Assegaf Hamzah & Partners and Skrine acted as local counsel for Eni in Indonesia and Malaysia respectively. The transaction establishes a joint venture between Eni and Petronas encompassing 14 oil and gas fields across Indonesia and Malaysia. The combined activities in the two countries cover approximately 3 billion barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) of resources, with additional exploration potential estimated at about 10 billion BOE. CMS represented Eni with a team composed by: partner Tom Mallalieu (team leader), Ziggy Gray, Beth Wheat, Charlie Denham, Sam White, Sophie Clayton, Stewart Watt, Jamie-Jean Hunter, Phil Reid, Jason Todd, Rebecca Stewart, Johanna Dodgson and Nicola Curry of CMS's London office; and partner Massimo Trentino and senior associate Valerio Giuseppe Daniele of CMS's Italian office. Assegaf Hamzah & Partners acted as local counsel for Eni in Indonesia. Skrine acted as local counsel for Eni in Malaysia. Eni's in-house legal department assisted internally with a team composed by: Federica Andreoni, Caterina Quaranta and Marta Landriscina.
