Fieldfisher advised Gelion plc on its successful and oversubscribed equity fundraise. The transaction comprised a Placing, Subscription and WRAP Retail Offer and raised approximately £10.5 million in gross proceeds. The issue of new shares was approved by Gelion shareholders at the company’s general meeting on 5 November. Achieved against a difficult backdrop for public markets, particularly for small and mid-cap companies, the oversubscription demonstrates investor confidence in Gelion’s strategy. Proceeds will be used to accelerate Gelion’s commercialisation plans, including development of commercial pouch cell prototypes in collaboration with Tier One partner TDK, enable the successful completion of the Prototype project with QinetiQ, support creation of an additional sales integration business unit, provide working capital to drive growth and reinforce the company’s balance sheet. Fieldfisher represented Gelion plc with a team composed by: Partner Brad Isaac (Equity Capital Markets), Senior Associate Lily Searle (Equity Capital Markets), Associate Jamal Moursy (Equity Capital Markets) and Trainee Sandra Ofili (Equity Capital Markets). Brad Isaac and Lily Searle previously advised Gelion on its AIM IPO in 2021 and have acted for the company on subsequent fundraisings.
