RITTERSHAUS advises Privatbrauerei Eichbaum on sale of KARAMALZ brand to VELTINS

RITTERSHAUS Rechtsanwälte and FALK & Co advised the Mannheim-based Privatbrauerei Eichbaum GmbH & Co. KG on the sale of the trademark KARAMALZ to the Sauerländer Brauerei C. & A. VELTINS. The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. KARAMALZ is an alcohol-free product first introduced to the market in 1955 as Henninger Karamell-Kraftbier and marketed for decades by the Henninger brewery. The original name was later shortened and protected as the trademark KARAMALZ. After the takeover by Actris AG in the early 2000s, ownership of the brand passed to the Mannheim-based Eichbaum brewery. C. & A. VELTINS is a fifth-generation, family-owned brewery founded in 1824 that brews according to the German Reinheitsgebot. Based in Meschede-Grevenstein in the Sauerland, VELTINS is one of the largest breweries in Germany. RITTERSHAUS Rechtsanwälte (represented Privatbrauerei Eichbaum GmbH & Co.
