Ashurst Advises Xpansiv on 100% Acquisition of Evident Group

Ashurst represented Xpansiv as lead counsel in its 100% acquisition of Evident Group. The transaction combines Xpansiv’s market infrastructure for scaling the energy transition — including the North American Renewables Registry (NAR), the Tradable Instrument for Global Renewables Registry (TIGR) and CBL, the largest spot exchange for environmental commodities — with Evident’s certification and registry capabilities, including its I-REC(E) registry. The acquisition follows Xpansiv’s earlier purchase of a minority interest in Evident announced in January 2024 and creates a world-leading clean energy registry network, uniting the renewable energy certificate registries of Evident and Xpansiv with a combined global capacity exceeding 300 GW.
