Chammas & Marcheteau advised Supernova Invest and the Bpifrance Fonds de décarbonation de la filière maritime (managed by Bpifrance Investissement and financed by CMA CGM) in the €12 million fundraising completed by CWS, alongside the SPI (Sociétés de Projets Industriels) fund managed by Bpifrance Investissement. The transaction concerns a €12 million financing round for CWS (Computed Wing Sail). Founded in 2016, CWS designs and develops automated rigid wing sails for wind-assisted ship propulsion. These systems can adjust lift and orientation in real time to optimise wind force and improve vessel performance. The raised funds will allow CWS to launch production of its first wings and to strengthen its role in the ecological transition of maritime transport. The operation supports the company's industrial development and growth in a rapidly expanding market.
