TozziniFreire and Lefosse advise on Athena Saúde BRL 1 billion debenture issuance

TozziniFreire acted as Brazilian counsel to issuer Athena Saúde, and Lefosse advised the group of underwriters involved in the transaction. The transaction comprised the fourth issuance of single unsecured debentures by Athena Saúde in the aggregate amount of BRL 1 billion. The debentures were publicly offered through the underwriting syndicate formed by Itaú BBA Assessoria Financeira, Banco Citibank, Banco Santander (Brasil), UBS BB Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários, Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco Votorantim. Athena Saúde is one of the country’s largest vertically integrated healthcare companies by number of beneficiaries, according to ANS data, offering health and dental plans and operating its own network of services including hospitals, medical centers and urgent care units. TozziniFreire acted as Brazilian counsel to Athena Saúde with a team composed by: partner Daniel Laudísio; associates Marina Maia de Souza and Marisa Bastos Pujol; and intern João Guilherme Echeverria Peralta.
