Davis Polk represented an affiliate of Cipher Mining Inc. in connection with a 15-year data center lease with Amazon Web Services. Under the agreement, Cipher Mining will deliver 300 megawatts of gross capacity to support AI workloads. The 15-year lease represents approximately $5.5 billion in contracted revenue over the initial term. Cipher Mining is focused on the development and operation of industrial-scale data centers for bitcoin mining and high-performance computing (HPC) hosting, and aims to be a market leader in bitcoin mining growth, data center construction and HPC hosting.
