Travers Smith advised Investec on the provision of upsized senior debt facilities to support Triple Private Equity‑backed Legal Benchmarking Group’s acquisition of The Lawyer. The transaction involved Investec providing enhanced senior debt financing to enable Legal Benchmarking Group (LBG), backed by Triple Private Equity, to acquire The Lawyer, a leading UK legal business intelligence platform, from Centaur Media. The financing package was increased to support the strategic acquisition and related commercial objectives of LBG. The transaction builds on Travers Smith’s earlier work this year advising Investec on the financing of Triple Private Equity’s original acquisition of Legal Benchmarking Group.
