Osborne Clarke advised investors Euregio+ and Redstone in the pre‑seed financing of ETH Zurich spin‑off Tethys Robotics. Tethys Robotics has secured a total of EUR 3.5 million in the pre‑seed round. The financing was led by Redstone and saw participation from Euregio+, Alpine VC and other co‑investors, including Zürcher Kantonalbank, the ETH Foundation, Kickfund and Venture Kick. Tethys Robotics, a spin‑off of ETH Zurich, is developing Tethys ONE, an autonomous underwater drone designed for safety‑critical deployments. The vehicle operates at depths of up to 300 metres and is intended for demanding missions such as inspections and maintenance in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors, the disposal of explosive ordnance remnants, and search‑and‑rescue operations under extreme conditions. The technology supports remote‑controlled or autonomous operation with high‑resolution 3D visualisation to simplify navigation and automate data collection. The company is already running more than 30 pilot projects with customers in the offshore wind and energy sectors and is collaborating with the Swiss Army and the Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre (SDRC). Tethys Robotics plans to deepen cooperation with security authorities and international organisations in the area of explosive ordnance disposal. The new capital will be used to accelerate further development and scaling of Tethys ONE and to drive its international rollout. Osborne Clarke represented Euregio+ and Redstone with a cross‑border team composed by: Giuliano Lanzavecchia and Martina Serbelloni (both Osborne Clarke Italy), and Maximilian Vocke and Dana Alpar (both Osborne Clarke Germany).
