Hogan Lovells advises British International Investment on USD 75 million loan to finance Blue Leaf Energy's greenfield projects in India

Hogan Lovells advised British International Investment plc (BII) in connection with a USD 75 million term loan facility provided for Blue Leaf Energy India Investments Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Macquarie Green Energy & Climate Opportunities Fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management. The term loan facility is intended to support the financing of Blueleaf Energy’s greenfield renewable energy projects in India. Blueleaf Energy is described as an Asia Pacific renewable energy platform specialising in the development of projects across India, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia. The financing is intended to actively advance the energy transition by enabling Blueleaf Energy’s portfolio projects to progress toward net zero and beyond. Earlier in 2025, Hogan Lovells also acted for BII in connection with a US$80 million mezzanine financing facility to ib vogt (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. to support development of greenfield utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage projects across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Both transactions reflect Hogan Lovells’ ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable infrastructure and clean energy initiatives in emerging markets.
