Demarest Advises Cotrasa on Acquisition of FIP Quotas

"Demarest advised Cotrasa Veículos e Serviços (controlled by the Battistella Group) on the acquisition of quotas in Empreendedor Brasil Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestratégia from Fundação Itaipu BR de Previdência e Assistência Social. The deal increases the Battistella Group's indirect stake in Itapoá Terminais Portuários and remains subject to preemption rights deadlines."

Demarest represented Cotrasa Veículos e Serviços, a company controlled by the Battistella Group, in an M&A transaction involving the acquisition of investment fund quotas. The transaction involved Cotrasa’s purchase of quotas issued by Empreendedor Brasil Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestratégia, which were sold to Cotrasa by Fundação Itaipu BR de Previdência e Assistência Social. Through the acquisition of these fund quotas, Cotrasa will increase the Battistella Group's indirect equity participation in Itapoá Terminais Portuários, the company that manages the Itapoá Port. The closing of the transaction is subject to the completion of certain preemption rights deadlines.
