"Osborne Clarke Supports €3.5M Pre-Seed Funding Round for Swiss Deep-Tech Spin-Off Tethys Robotics"

"Osborne Clarke supported Euregio+ and Redstone in the pre-seed funding round of Swiss deep-tech spin-off Tethys Robotics, which raised €3.5 million. Tethys Robotics, an ETH Zurich spin-off, develops Tethys ONE, an autonomous underwater drone designed for critical safety operations, including offshore wind and oil & gas inspections, explosive ordnance disposal, and search and rescue missions. The funding will accelerate the development, scalability, and international launch of the solution, which is already being tested in over 30 pilot projects and collaborations with the Swiss Army and international organizations."

Osborne Clarke supported Euregio+ and Redstone in the pre-seed financing round of the Swiss deep-tech spin-off Tethys Robotics, which raised a total of €3.5 million. The round was led by Redstone, with participation from Euregio+, Alpine VC, and other co-investors including Zürcher Kantonalbank, ETH Foundation, Kickfund, and Venture Kick. The transaction involved the development and scaling of Tethys ONE, an autonomous underwater drone designed for critical safety operations. The robot operates at depths of up to 300 meters and performs complex missions such as offshore wind and oil & gas inspections, explosive ordnance disposal, and search and rescue operations in extreme conditions. The technology supports both remote-controlled and autonomous operations, featuring high-resolution 3D visualization for navigation and automated data collection. Tethys Robotics is already testing the drone with pilot customers in the offshore wind and energy sectors, with over 30 pilot projects underway. The company collaborates with the Swiss Army and the Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre (SDRC) and plans to expand cooperation with security authorities and international organizations for explosive ordnance disposal. The new capital will accelerate the development and scalability of the drone and support its international launch. Euregio+ and Redstone were advised by Osborne Clarke with a multi-jurisdictional team. In Italy, the team was led by partner Giuliano Lanzavecchia, supported by junior associate Martina Serbelloni. In Germany, the team was led by partner Maximilian Vocke, supported by senior associate Dana Alpar.
