"Baker McKenzie Switzerland advised Commerzbank Zurich branch on a PLN 1.17 billion guarantee facility agreement for Calik Enerji Swiss, backed by Swiss Export Risk Insurance. The agreement supports the construction of a 1,336 MW combined-cycle power plant with H2-ready technology in Kozienice, Poland. Baker McKenzie provided legal counsel on Swiss and Turkish law aspects, led by Zurich-based partner Markus Wolf and supported by teams in Switzerland and Turkey."

Baker McKenzie Switzerland and Esin Attorney Partnership (Baker McKenzie Istanbul) participated in the transaction, advising Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft (Zurich branch) in connection with a guarantee facility agreement for Calik Enerji Swiss. The transaction involved a PLN 1,166,286,000 guarantee facility agreement, with Swiss Export Risk Insurance providing the main coverage. The facility was guaranteed by Çalık Enerji San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and is related to Calik Enerji Swiss and Çalık Enerji’s EPC contract for the turnkey construction of a 1,336 MW combined-cycle power plant with H2-ready technology in Kozienice, Poland. The Baker McKenzie team included Zurich-based partner Markus Wolf (banking & finance), who led the operation, supported by associate Sammy Guidoum (banking & finance) and trainee lawyer Valentina Biland (banking & finance).
